Sometimes you do get a bit of surge as the board goes through the water, it might be caused by the type of lure you are pulling at the time, other times the board runs as if its on rails and never varies apart from when a fish hits.
Ihave the weight on my boards set as far back as possible so the board runs nose up, i think it shows when a fish hits better, especially smaller fish.
