I have been busy making some more lures and i have found out why small Rapalas are just as dear as the larger ones making small lures is sore on the fingers, you have nothing much to hold while carving and assembling them, i have also learned a lot about tuning lures to run right its just tiny adjustments you need to get the lure to run properly.
My next project is to make a "tuning" tank 6ft long by 1ft deep to tank test the lures, my wife is always wondering when she gets in from work the bath is always full of cold water ............need to get the tank made soon
The first 5 lures are made from hard wood the same wood as the Rapala Magnums and the last lure is balsa and has mettallic tinsel on the body.

Well done James you are certainly getting the hang of it now,the finish on those lures look fantastic. How hard is it to finish the mettalic tinsel ones, they certainly look the part.

Kevin one of the hardest thing to get right is picking the right day to do the foiling and coat it, it sounds a daft thing to say but when there is high humidity the coating turns out all cloudy so you have to pick a day when the air is clear and you can see for miles, then you get a good finish , so i might have to buy myself a humididty meter and see if i can find the "magic" level for doing it.
And i have found the best tinfoil for doing the lures is "Kitkat" wrappers its nice and thin and goes on well.

Scotty you have just given me an idea some of these fancy KitKats have coloured wrappers on them i will need to try and do a lure with the tinsel from them.
