Had my first outing since april last week on the garry.Arrived early to a pike fisher kipping in his motor on the slipway did'nt think he was too happy at being woken up .Forgot about the dreaded midge and got bit to f*$k while getting the boat ready(must remember midgy net and gloves next time).Had not fished the garry in a while so it took a bit of getting used to,downriggers were up and down more often than a whores knickers .After about an hour and no fish i went for a wee kip up front ...

A few guys who fish arkaig started a blog, they were going to do reports and the like but i think those spanned ...

Arrived at the loch about 6.30 and had the boat in pretty quick with all the midges.Had to fish the shoreline till about 10 ish as it was like pea and ham soup, lucky if you could see 15 yds at times. After about 10 the sun burned the mist off and it was hot .We fished the middle section of the loch for most of the day but only had one trout about 2.5 lb to show for all our efforts. It was very bright so we concentrated mainly on the riggers but it did not make a lot of difference.Fortunately ...

Loch Earn Trip

We headed out to loch Earn last Sunday trolling. Weather was pretty dour, Cloudy, overcast, really humid and eventually rain. We trolled all day, with just a few small wild fish hitting the lures. Plenty of big fish showing deep down, no matter what we gave them they were not interested. Tried Flatline trolling with deep diving lures, the downrigger, leadcore all with different shapes and sizes of various lures.
