Finally got to try my new boat, as luck would have it, the weather was beautiful, wall to wall sunshine and hardly a breath so the fishing wasn't any good and not a fish landed. But the boat seem to go well

Allan did you buy that boat from Ireland it is very much like mine from mca boats Newry .Lovely boats i will try and get a picture of how i fitted the downrigger to mine it is completely detachable from the boat.
I was out in some really bad weather last year and did not feel in any danger whatsoever. I have given all the wood 5 coats of varnish and replaced any brass with stainless steel i alls put two large brown trout stickers on the bow . Another thing i done was get two pack non skid grey paint and gave the deck two coats . I wanted a boat that could troll and fly fish and it is fabulous for both .

I went for the Kingfisher and when I can afford it, I'm thinking of getting a 9.9 Yamaha short shaft.
Will be useful to see how you rigged the down rigger.
At the end of the season I'll put a few more coats of varnish on it.
Keeping it at Dornie for the season and towing it from there to the big lochs in the area, hence the question about Garry.
Looking forward to trolling and fly fishing from it

You should get the trout stickers for the bow they look fantastic
